Integral sums up what I choose to stand for in life. To transcend and include everything possible is a clarion call for me. Integral embodies the leading edge of where I'm at as I strive to be more loving, more capable, more discerning and more embracing. To turn away from nothing and to face every aspect of myself and the world I encounter is exciting and benificent.

Academic learning has taken up a lot of time in the past few months for me, so I'd be more inclined to learn something practical and messy at the moment. How to wire electronics? That seems like it would have a lot of use in my frequent tinkering with things. I wish I had more skill when it comes to getting audio gadgetry functioning just as I'd like it.

If I could no longer live in Canada, the ideal for me would be to become a nomad. I've had wanderlust for as long as I can remember and I believe I could offer the most to the world if I was unconfined by any one local.

Saturday night I had an early birthday meal with my parents, sister, brother-in-law and my girlfriend. It was memorable primarily because I was able to spend time with my family, but the Mexican food was excellent as well. There is something wonderful about deep-fried ice cream.

My parents fostered an environment for autonomous thinking as soon as it was appropriate. When it came to religion i was always given a clear choice to participate and when it same to secular concerns I was given a lot of resources in the form of books and discussions with my parents.

I'd like to think I keep a good balance of reason and emotion, but I sometimes feel emotions lead me from doing things as efficiently and without distraction as I'd like. When I am not productive or pursuing the things I'm passionate about it's often an emotional drive for immediate contentedness that is at play.

I believe love is a capacity that we can develop throughout our lives. In both span (how many we love) and depth (how well we love), our ability to love is expandable to no perceptable limit, and this is the most exciting and promising idea I know of. If we can tap into this potential for love and direct it toward expanding our other abilities (because loving more is a greater motivator for doing something to help), we have the opportunity for genuine change.

I believe that genuine compassion must be rooted in fairness. As we take more perspectives into account, I think it's necessary to consider justice and compassion together in order to me most skillful in fostering growth in people and in society.

There are a range of traits that make me enjoy someone's company. A certain sense of lightness is very attractive, as is passion. An adventurous spirit and a genuine openness are appealing. And being able to hold silence space well is also something I treasure. In the end, the more someone embraces internally and in the world, the more I find a spark of enjoyment with them.

Firefox opens to my own website, which I use to remind me to create content. I follow that up with a visit to GMail, Facebook and LIveJournal before heading on to Google Reader for the rest of my daily reading.

I'm definitely a night person. I have more energy and feel more creative once it's dark. This lead me to work at night before returning to university and makes early morning classes a bit unpleasant.
