A Memory of My Grandmother

Posted on Sep 15th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 24, 2007:

One of my most vivid memories of my grandmother is from the last few months of her life, as she was dying of cancer. I was spending a few hours with her in the evening putting together a puzzle. She often had them underway as I was growing up and putting the pieces together was something we shared throughout the years.
I remember there being a certain strength about her then that I can't pin down. It wasn't a defiance or an acceptance as such, but she had a resolute manner about her that night that I have often forgotten when thinking of her, but that seems to be the essence of who she was.
In placing the puzzle pieces we were sharing a quite space filled with more value than any words she could have offered.

My Ideal Day

Posted on Sep 15th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 25, 2007:

My ideal day would begin with meditation, follow into resistance training, move into breakfast and begin in earnest. I'd catch up on daily reading, do a chunk of writing of my own, throw in a meal or two and polish up my commitments. I'd connect with some of the wonderful folks I'm blessed with knowing and spend a few hours out and about exploring whereever I am.

I may be easy to please, but that really is my ideal life. I'd like to think it ties in to the important aspects of life in my self, culture and nature. How do I get there? I can't quite figure out how to live this everyday, but I work on it.

Mistaken for Someone Else?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 26, 2007:

I can't actually remember any instances when I was mistaken for someone else. I suppose my appearance is odd enough that I'm not often mistakable.

The Best Thing Yesterday

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 27, 2007:

Having breakfast with my friend Cerra, her boyfriend Matt and Gwen was the nicest part of my day. I don't often get to spend time with my friends, so it was nice to get out, enjoy good food and share conversation.

How I Believe in God

Posted on Sep 15th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 28, 2007:

I believe in God in the sense meant by Godhead, as the unmanifest, the ground, source and evolutionary directive of all things. Godhead, as the mystics understand it, is consciousness itself, our original face, the very suchness of everything that arises. And how could I doubt that?

Stardancing

Posted on Sep 17th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 29, 2007:

Yesterday I was looking around Spider Robinson's website and discovered The Stardance Project. Spider is an accomplished Sci Fi writer and this project is a bridge between his fiction and the possibilities we have within our grasp now. He and his wife are working to create the first dancing in zero gravity. What is so inspiring about this is the pushing of techical and artistic boundaries as we move into a time when the expanse of space opens before us. Pioneering the arts in space helps to generate interest in space exploration and give balance to that exploration.

My Boundaries

Posted on Sep 17th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 30, 2007:

I'm feeling the most growth in myself in the faculty of focus and attention. I find myself better able to focus and cut out distractions than I have been in a long while. I'm hoping to hone this and apply it to my studies as the year progresses.

My Last Visit to Dean

Posted on Sep 19th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
I last visited Dean, where I grew up, in early April. I stayed with my parents and took some time to visit with my family. A highlight of this time was returning to the maple woods, where my fondest memories of my childhood are set. Being in Dean is always a soothing, warm experience because of the love shared by my family and the quiet and quaint nature of the community. I make it out there a couple times a year and it's always refreshing when I do.

What Wisdom I Have

Posted on Sep 19th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
Much of my wisdom would be shared by the community here at Zaadz. What I would share now is a very simple and broad piece of wisdom. My favourite expression of it comes in the form of lyrics from a Collective Soul song, "Blame".

An Extra Day

Posted on Sep 19th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
I think I would spend an additional day this week in meditation. I've been out of my meditation routine this past month and would like to jump back in to a strong practice. I might begin with a Big Mind session, do some holosync-aided meditation and some traditional sitting and walking meditations.

September's Aim

Posted on Sep 19th, 2007 by Apollo : Frozen Truth Apollo
My main goal this month is to create strong patterns in my studies that I can carry forward through this year. I'm hoping to create organizational and time management plans that I can work within and live a life that's stable and productive.
