What's the best thing about living in this era?

Access to near-limitless high quality information and ideas makes this era unprecedentedly exciting.  In every discipline we have knowledge at our fingertips that previous era's inhabitants  could not have even imagined. What we choose to do with this knowledge is unknowable, but the potential this brings humanity is startling when considered. Longer lives, better lives and more valuable lives are promised if we get our act together and already those improvements have seeped into many of our lives.

What have you learned from having your heart broken?

So many of the great lessons come from heartbreak, especially ones about love. How else could we learn to love well unless we did it in the most difficult of situations? I imagine my understanding of the endurance of love and omni-directional potential in love would be limited if I had not striven to love through heartbreaks. Would I know that unconditional love is separate from the conditional nature of relationships if I hadn't had romantic relationships with amazing women end with love remaining? I would not value the act of loving as much as I do without experiencing heartbreak.
